woah – what a week! oh my! sorry, we didn’t keep you posted but it was just so much going on! so, first we had fashion week. since i am a mom i stay out of the circus. you just get different priorities and in a way i feel like been there done that. but my best friend who lives in london came to visit me and i thought it would be fun to do a few things with her like we use to do it. it was very hectic and i realized again -been there done that- but we had a lot of fun together, went to some nice fashion shows together like the “designers for tommorow” show hosted by marc jacobs which was quite interesting to see what the “new” designers have to show and what inspires them. then we went to some parties -gee, always around 1 am i got so dead tired. i mean when you have to get up at 6 am – yes, my daughter is a sweet early bird – you are pretty tired at one am and you know you have to get up soon (my husband was on tour) so the parties were fun too but definitely different then how it used to be. so it was a fun week but also very exhausting week. but the best part was yet to come -the weekend where my husband was the headliner with his group “beginner” on saturday at germanys biggest hip hop festival “splash”. a very good friend watched liara (thank you lili!!!!) and me and my two best friends drove down to the festival. it was amazing!! it was sold out for the first time so the whole atmosphere there was already amazing. and it felt a bit like a family reunion meeting so many people i’ve been knowing for such a long time now. there were great other acts on that day ( i was a bit sad that i’ve missed nas on friday but i already saw him twice so it was alright
) such as “torch” who is tha godfather of german rap so that was quite emotional and he just is a great guy and character. it was so cool to see how the young crowd appreciated him and knew the old lyrics and really went crazy. but then my husbands show with his group was just off the hook! seriously it was so amazing!! them, the crowd, the love, the music, everybody singing along, the spirit and the most amazing german hip hop group! and they are oldskool so it was again so amazing to see that the relatively young crouwd knew all the lyrics to every song! it was so much love and i literally had goosebumps the whole time! above you see a clip where they did a beastie boys medley which means so, so much to me as the beastie boys is a group which has influenced, inspired and impressed me very, very much and is very important to me. the loss of founder and member “mca” this year was a very big one to every hiphop head on the planet and also to me so i am very grateful they did the medley. pure love. i am still thrilled and it was lovely to have such an amazing – babyfree
– weekend! enjoy the clip! mucho hiphoplove, k.
