the gift the bird is giving to the girl is a truly astounding gift, the gift of its heart and its true love for her – something the girl will likely never get from someone else.

but the girl leaves and the bird cries because not only does it know it was rejected twice, it feels the precious gift is in danger.

as the world starts to rain tears the girl wanders around. she stops to rest at the base of a tree, thinking of the bird while a skeleton appears on a cloud

 suddenly she is drawn to the beautiful but false music of the skeleton playing the flute. so tempting, so alluring – she has only eyes fo him and the precious gift tumbles down. will she later realize that the tempting skeleton can not compare to the superb gift that the bird offered her so freely?
